80% of learning is processed through
the eyes.
Vision related problems can be
misdiagnosed as inattention or hyperactivity. Unfortunately,
most school vision screenings only test for distance
vision, whereas near vision is a crucial component in
learning. Children can struggle with numerous vision
related issues which can be resolved with vision therapy.
Eye movements, eye teaming/tracking, and visual information
processing are vital skills for reading and learning.
At Family Optometry and Vision
Therapy we look at all areas where the visual system
can break down. Once the condition is discovered, we
create a vision therapy plan designed specifically to
improve the deficient areas. Our vision therapy schedule
is flexible in that we understand families lead very
busy lives with work, school, and other activities.
Our sessions are packed with numerous exercises to improve
reading skills, eye-hand coordination, and overall self-esteem.
Each session lasts one hour and is scheduled two times
per week for optimal results.
